My Nitrates have been on a constant rise since my tank ws establish, about a year ago. They are now way too high and cant get them to go down. Water changes, cleanings, everything.
I want to switch to a refugium so i can get rid of these bio balls and get some macro algae to help with the nitrates.
If i bought or made a refugium, how can i switch between the two? I am sure you cant just swap them out, that should casue an ammonia spike right?
Also, i see some fudges for sale that have a bio ball compartment. Should i stay away from those again or will those be ok since i will also have plants to help keep downthe nitrates?
