My LFS is going to sell me these under internet cost indavidual reflectors etc. for my 75 gallon 48 inch tank. It is 21 inches deep/ I am running fowler only atm live sand 3 to 4 inches deep. I want the option to add soft or hard corals or anything inbetween. Are these good lights for the money ? My lfs are awsome guys and this is what they carry so I would like to keep my buisness with them on most things but if they are just bad lights altogether I need to pass.

How many bulbs? Its the hordicultural version of the Tek I think. It won't have waterproof endcaps or any provision for a splash sheild. The housing is steel so rust could be a problem in the future. Other then that it would be a decent light.

ok what i found for this is around $215 with bulbs. but it appears to be a grow lamp for plants and therefore has no protection against water splash and salt creep, donno if its the one ur talking about but if it is i would not buy it

The patented circuitry inside each ballast ensures consistent high performance and low energy consumption. A 3.15" high-CFM fan quietly cools the ballast and lamps for peak performance. Maximum thermal reduction is achieved by strategic placement of the ballast in relation to the lamps allowing the fans to perform efficiently and quietly.
