the tek t5 ho thats 48" would be perfect for that tank. if you acclimate everything slowly they should all be fine, i have zoos, gsp, devils hand, lps under metal halide

Well, i would say MHs... You will need to light acclimate when you upgrade. Of course i am trying to sell a 250 watt 14k SunPod, but MHs is all i have ever used and my clam has been doing great... Here is a pic of my old tank (with the lights i am selling).

It is 20" long w/ 12 lunar lights.
I don't have a pic of the lights. The buyer i had for them fell through on the payment. They are all packed up and ready to go out tomorrow.
I will PM you the website for more info...

No problem at all...
I still suggest getting MHs. They are the best all around IMO.
You will be able to keep whatever you want later down the road.

you can keep anything you want with T5 HO with individual reflectors like the the TEK. sps, lps, clams, anemones, anything. less heat, more energy efficient, bulbs last longer.

I don't have any for sale, but I too would reccomend getting MH lighting. I have a 250 watt pendent on a 46 bow front and I love it. I do not like the colors of the T-5's at all. You could get just one 250 watt pendent and fix it into a canopy like I did then leave whatever lighting you have now as secondary lighting for the spots that the MH do not reach. That way you can keep your softies happy on the side and not give them direct lighting from the MH. I reccomend the PFO pendant and ballast with 14K pheonix bulb. I have 2 maxima's and they are both growing and doing great. I also don't like the T-5's because of there are so many bulbs the bulb changes get very expensive, but thats just my opion.

you can change the kelvin on t5 bulbs like you can on mh
12000k
3000k
6500k
6000k
11000k
etc.
if i were to redo my lighting id go for t5. i think a lot of people are just scared of gettinginto something new when all they hear about is metal halide
