What are yalls experiences with these lights? Also can I substatute the original 21 what bulbs with the 39 what bulbs?

never used the nova retro kits but the other stuff is a good buy for the money. not the best but not trash either. but you cant interchange ho bulbs with no bulbs

I have the same for my acts. They are HO bulbs so you can only replace with 36"(34") 21w HO bulbs. But current makes some 21w HO bulbs that offer some other options to the nova bulbs. Like 420 nm act instead of 460nm.

So you are saying that I cant get the same bulbs that would go into the Nova Extreme 36" fixture?
I already have the Nova Extreme Pro

You need to have a ballast to drive the HO bulbs, you can't just pop them in. Also, if there is any reflector in that unit, it can't be doing much.
IMO it be worth it to buy an Icecap or TEK retro.

Well like the poster above said that they are HO bulbs......So that is why I was asking.....These lights were free to me so there was no loss of money either way.....
