Hi, I was wondering how everyone takes pictures of their tanks? I have a 35mm automatic camera...is it possible to take nice pictures of my tank? So far none really turn out. I know it is because it focuses on the glass but does anyone have suggestions?
Thanks.

the best pictures that I have had come out was taking pictures at an angle with the flash off and had bright lights on behind me. just try it if it works good if not them you can try something else.. best to go digital though.

I've never tried with a 35mm, but with my digital, here are some things that seem to work well for me.
- clean the glass before taking pics... inside and outside
- take pics in the evening, after the sun has set. Turn off all lights in the room, so the only light is the light from the tank
- put the camera right up against the glass. This will make it harder for the camera to focus on the glass.
- keep the camera extremely still. Consider using a tripod.

I've tried with a 35mm before and the pics never really turned out that well.
I now use a digital and the quality of the pics is much better.
Like jacksonpt I too place the camera against the glass.
