I just ordered 4 Dragonfly zoas at an outrageous price. They are supposed to be small (as the ad says, "think of them as a seed") so maybe I can sneak them into my tank without my husband noticing them. Every night when he comes home from work he goes straight to the aquarium and looks it over to see if there is "anything else." Luckily he is color blind so he often misses the smaller aquisitions.
I just added some orange dendrophyllia (I know, its not a zoa) and he spotted them immediately. I never tell him what anything costs and he enjoys it more that way.

trust me on this - spouses or partners may never call us on our addictions; but then you also can never say a word about their shopping or spending habits. It's best if you each have your own portion of the budget for your own passions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am divorced once and on second (hopefully last) marriage - so lessons are hard learned. DON"T KEEP SECRETS! "Just say I am staying within my budget!"

Mine doesn't care what I spend because I bring half the bacon in and I pay the bills. His response normally is... *as long as you are happy, I'm happy*.

I know what site you got the dragonflys from. Once they get a huge colony, Id imagine they would look pretty B.A.
Im hoping for Chongs Bongs, Mohawks, and Red Wines. Chongs and Mohawks Ill be getting from a friend as soon as my armageddons are ready for fragging again

Im not really addicted to zoanthids, as much as I just love colorful corals, mostly zoos and LPS.

But in reality it is his happiness he is looking out for. The really smart man learns to smile, say yes and give a hug.

Oh I'm very lucky, I make a great salary and so does my husband. We each have our own pile of money for our toys. He lets me have anything I want (within reason - no buying countries or trips to the moon). But he definietly likes the corals better when he doesn't know what they cost.
