tang problems

hey everyone i got a powder brown tang and he is eating like a pig with the flakes and when i add brine for other fish. he will not eat the algae strips or romane lettuce. is there anything i can do to get him the eat the food that he is naturally sapose to be eating?

What kind of flake food are you feeding?

i feed them tetramin tropical flakes for SW fish

You would switch to Formula 2 frozen food. Formula 2 has a lot of algea in it and is great for herbivores like tangs. Also flake food can contaminate your water if it doesnt get eaten. Also just keep and algea strip in there and the tang may go over and pick at it when it wants to.

you can also feed spiriluna flakes once in a while.

Drop the Brine. Feed frozen Mysis. Brine is virtually worthless nutritionally.

Yep, and like stated, I would switch to a higher quality flake food like Ocean Nutrition.
