Hi!
I was thinking today since I'm getting my 125 ready that it would be nice to have a tang along with my Porcupine Puffer, Fimbriated Eel, Pinfish, and Emporer Snapper. Is this totally unheard of or not? If it isn't, would a Sailfin Tang work? I have never owned any tangs yet.... Thanks!

I don't see a problem with that but I don't think that it would be a good "permanent" home, but should be fine for the mean time. I just don't know how your water parameters are going to hold up with that many big fish. Just remember to add your fish slowly (not all at once) and try choosing smaller specimens.

Oh, sorry I didn't realize you already had your 125 set up. It sounded like you were in the process of setting it up.

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say that it is fully operational, but the cycle is pretty well over and I'm starting to add fish REALLY slowly. Do you think that I could keep a Yellow, Scopas, or Sailfin? I may also have to get rid of the Emporer Snapper when it gets too large. It already is like 6"....

Yellow, scopas, or sailfin sound good. Try to aim for a smaller one because I know for a fact the sailfin and yellow tang get pretty big.

I think I'll aim for the Sailfin. Do you know if I can keep it for its entire life in the tank comfortably? Dimensions are: 72"L x 18"W x 24"T Thanks for all the help!

I would recomend the yellow and scopas over the sailfin. Sailfins get very large(the can grow up 16inches long and just as tall)

Well probably not his entire life. It will take a really long time for them to get that big though. My LFS has had theirs for over 8 years and it's about 12in in a 180 and it looks like the tank is a tad bit too small. So to answer your question, you can't house it comfortably for its' entire life span IMO.

Ok... Maybe by the time that I need to upgrade the tank, I'll have a job and will have no trouble doing so. LOL.
