Tangs and ick

I have had great success with tangs, although they did get ick.. both of them...but I treated them with Maracin and they both NEVER got it again. This is contrary to what a lot of people say so I just wanted to let people know that tangs are great -- just give them a chance! My Yellow Tang is one of the happiest fishes I have ever kept, and he's one of my favorites.

Yellow tangs are my favorite! What personality and beauty they have; and, by the way, they are one of the most purchased fish in the hobby, thus, that should tell you that not everyone hates tangs.
I must say, that maracin is not a treatment for ICK, unless we are speaking of 2 different things? Maracin is an antibotic.

Sorry... I didn't just treat with maracin...that was for his "red steaks" I used Greenex for his ick. My mistake! I also gave him a freshwater dip, but I don't believe that's what did it, those never work for me.. in fact I think they just stress the fish even more.

Personaly I like the purple tang and the Powder Blue tang. Yeah they are a little pricey, but well worth it in my opinion. The yellow tang is ok, but I like the more rare fish that people don't see everyday.
