Will a blue hippo tang do well with a yellow tang? I have a 55 gallon with lots of live rock. I just let some of my aggressive fish go to a school but now needing more fish. I have a yellow tang and clown fish left in there and wanted to add other fish to my reef tank. Any suggestions on some great fish?

IMO; a 55 is too small for even one tang, much less two. Hippos can grow to 12" or so. With the mature LR, a Flame (or other dwarf angel) should work. There are also many often over-looked wrasse that are great fish. The flasher and faririe wrasse are a great group of fish for a tank with the fish you have.

i have both in my 55g. they are both happy they swim alot. i have had them for almost a year together, but i do have a place for them to go when they get to big for the 55g. they are small now so i think i have got like another 3 or 4 years before that becomes a problem.

I really don't know how you tell if a fish is "happy", I doubt they experience that emotion. I think fish are geared toward eating, not being eaten , and reproducing. Everything else is is just reactive behavior .IMO, if a Hippo tang takes 3-4 years to outgrow a 55 gal; it is not receiving enough nutrition, is stunted and never will reach full growth. It may only be theory in SW tanks, but proven with FW wild fish: fish will limit their growth fit their environment. Not trying to get personal, but keeping fish on a "temporary" basis just isn't what this hobby is about...at least to me.

the only reson he is really in the 55 is cuz of the lion fish. the hippo is to small to go in the 125. the lion has gottne a few other fish before so im not gonna risk it until he is a little bit bigger. right now the hippo is only like 1.5" at the most. the yellow tang is on its way to the 125 but not yet hes only 3". so thats y i have it that way.
