tangs

For the sake of arguement, all tangs need atleast 6' of swimming space So..... atleast a 100 gallon. There will be discussions on this but that is generally the rule. Tangs are sensitive and should not, IMO, be kept by someone with a smaller tank or very little experience.
Feel free to use the "search" button at the top. You will generally get more info. there because all of these threads are great questions but have been asked thousands of times before. Some members will not answer because they think you need to do a little research yourself or they are tired of answering the same questions every day.
Knowing that; if you research and still cannot find an answer, we are here for ya.

Also, Tangs are grazers and therefore need to be added to established tanks (6 months old or so). They also should be quarrantined (as should all fish) as they are prone to ich.

they get about twelve inches and a 180 gallon i say could keep one very healthy and it would less likely get stressed and die in a bigger tank

hmmmmmmmm i agree,,,, but i do have a 75 reef w/ a hippo, kole, 2 percs, 2 neons and a purple tang... i've had the first two tangs for almost 2 yrs, they love it... the purple was just added....... these fish all swim around in a "school" its so weird maybe i just got lucky... i had plenty of bad experiences w/ tangs getting along!
soon as they get to 6 inches each they will go in my 200g plus, and if i don;t have it by then they will be given away or sold!!!!!!!!!!!
i highly reccomend like at least 100, and not this many tangs, i do water changes weekly, moniter everything... and its time consuming!
i have my flame suit on!!!!!!!

I keep mine in a 560 gal tank. I used to have 4 blue tangs with lots of rock work in an 80 gal. The tang police got to me.

No flame suit needed. It works for you now, but the important thing is it will NOT work for less experienced hobbiest.
