tank already cycled?

I set up a 58 gallon 23 days ago. I used an already established sand bed , and probably 40 lbs of liverock from my existing 30 gallon. I've had a 3" trigger in there for 20 days now. At day 15 and 23 I ran ammonia and nitrates and got very low ammonia readings on day 15 and no detectable levels on day 23. I've run out of nitrite tests so I'm not sure how they are testing. Is it possible that because of the lr and ls my tank cycled in such a short time? I know on my first setup and my roomates first nitrates were through the roof around day 20. Any thoughts?

Well, I would rather get robbed for $11 at my LFS for a new nitrIte test to be sure rather than chance it on a fish that costs more than $11. My LFS (when they have the stuff in stock) will do all four basic tests for free. If yours does, get it done. If all is normal for a fully cycled tank, give it a go. Also, I would assume that your trigger is acting and eating normally, that is a good sign.
That's just my .02 cents worth. I tend to be cautious now because of past assumptions that turned out to be wrong.
