Tank cleanliness

I have a question about live rock. How can you keep your tank free of parasitic organisms when you use live rock. Is it possible to keep your tank free of unwanted pests such as bristleworms etc. If so how? I have a small 30gal. fowlr and it's disturbing how many little oraganisms I see taking over my tank. What preventative measures can be taken to build a pest free tank?

IMO other than killing the LR there's nothing much you can do ..... it's nature's way. By keeping nutrients in the water to a minimum you can control bristleworm population. Other than that, it's the luck of the draw.

You need all of those creatures in your tank.
The bio-diversity is good,and helps keep it clean.

Bristleworms aren't pests, they're garbageworms, they help clean up the detritus. You want to have bristleworms.
