Tank Crisis/Yellow Tang in Danger

I have a Yellow Tang in trouble...long story short....I did a routine partial water change recently and used tap water-okay bad idea. I treated it first, I thought it was safe. The next day I came to work and the water was cloudy. I ran some test starting with ammonia, it read 2! I did a large water change which fixed it, except I must have done to much because it caused a cycle! For 1 day I had a trace of ammonia. The LFS said it must complete the cycle again, leave it alone. It did in a day, however my Yellow Tang was very stressed out in the process. It's been a week, she has never recovered. Today she won't eat at all. I've offered her a variety of food. Is it possible she will recover, or must I watch this awful downward spiral? Oh the guilt! She looks fine, only her lips turned a little red. That has happened before, so I didn't think much of it. She hasn't lost weight yet, and her color is normal. Any advice would be appreciated...oh, and the tank is one year old, she has been in it for 8 months.

Yes-my pump broke and we replaced it and cleaned the filter! However-that was about a month ago, nothing changed, I knew that was a risk. I have LR and LS. I haven't had any challenges until the tap water cloudiness issue. I've been careful not to feed any more than the others will consume-I'm not letting food hit the sand. It seems the cycle, for whatever reason it happened, is over. The Tang was stressed in the process, my fear is she will not recover. I don't have a QT tank as no fish have been added since her-if the tank is not cycling anymore wouldn't it be redundant to move her ?

Ammonia and Nitrite are back down to 0, I didn't feed for three days even after I got it back down. I fed a tiny bit of Spirulina yesterday (my first day back at work), and Brine Shrimp flakes whish she ignored. She did however eat a little frozen shrimp yesterday, today she would eat nothing. There was no activity in my salon (where the tank is) all weekend, I was hoping she would recover. So your opinion is the tap water was irrelevant and possibly coincidental?

About 20% water change, I just used Stress Coat. I ran out of bottled water that night, I'm normaly a stickler. It was cloudy when I left-I thought it was becuase the sand was stirred up. I always do my changes at night, it seems to give them a chance to chill after the invasion of the cleaning.

I mean the sand was stirred up from pouring the water back in. Oh anyway, I really appreciate your being so helpful. I guess we confirmed I made a big mistake, I just hope I don't lose her because I was lackadaisical one time. Sometimes I think I should hire it done, but then I enjoy the maintaining it myself, 'ya know? It's a pleasure but it's sickening now that she is ill.
