Tank Help

I was just wondering for all those who dont use a canopy on their tank, do you place anything ontop of the tank top prevent splash? i have been having a problem with the water that bubbles up splashing on the wall behind my tank as well as all over my filter, lights everything does anyone else have this problem? How is t solved? What can i do if i just have my lights on the tank?

do you have MH's ?
are they mounted in the canopy?
my lights are 8-9" from the water, with nothing to cover them.

what type of lighting do you have?
i used to have a coralife light that came with feet and they were about 4-5" above the water with no problem, it also came with a plastic shield to protect from water, you could also get a piece of plexyglass to put under the light??

Egg crate will help limit splash, but you'll still probably get a bit.
