is there any company that sells insurance for a tank and what damage it might cause???
here is the deal we were buying a trailer from my aunt ( by marriage) and moved here with a deal, well that deal went into a 130,000.00 dollar 16x80 mobile home with no land. so we decided to just rent and look for soemthing different. well today she had the never to say something about my tanks that have been in the home since we moved in. anyway a big mess but until we can find something else I gotta try to appeaze the ANYWAY becasue I refuse to get ride of my tanks until we decide where we are going if I move back to AR then I dont see a problem in selling off so that I dont have a big chance of things dying befoer I can get things up and going again.
so if nayone knows anything that can help me out I woulkd be apprecative,,

yeah it was supposed to have alomst 30 acres with it but she took those to resale for guess the price 130,000.00.
but what really got me is when we confronted her she actually told us that that is what she is having to pay forthe trailer only so thats what we were going to have to pay her for it...
Does she think I am STUPID or something anyone in their right mind would see through tat one LOL

Look into flood insurance. My GF's mom is an insurance adjuster that has a certification in flood damage. Some policies have riders that state the water damage must be from natural disaster, but does not define natural disaster. Others define natural disaster, and still other companies do not clarify where the source of the excess water need be from. Look into it, and also be aware that this is under MI law, so I don't know all the details of TX law. Look into the flood insurance. Because in a technical sense, an aquarium draining onto the floor is "an uncontrollable excess of water which directly results in damaged property". Conveniently, this is how some insurance companies in MI define a flood.

What are you saying? Is she trying to take your tank? I don't understand what you want to know? What kind of insurance are you looking for? If it breaks? If she steals it? What?

we were buying the trailer until the bomb shell of cost so we decided to rent instead after that is when she brought up that the insurance doent cover tanks or damage done by tanks. I think she is going to cause problems with my tanks on them being in the home and say that they have to go unless I get insurance to cover damage that would be caused if the break. but what gets me I have had all my tanks for a year now since we moved here and nothing untill all this crap come up.

here a flood is natural event or breakage of water pipelines and doesnt cover aquarium leakage I check with several companies before asking on here and noone aroud here offers anything that would cover the tank. I know inhabitants wouldnt be covered at all but I need something that will take care of damage done by the water basically.

Doesn't normal homeowners insurance cover these things? I know flood damage is based on outside water sources, but your property inside the home is covered by homeowner insurance. You should have a deductible, but after that the damages and loss of property SHOULD be covered.
Check into that. It will be interesting for us all!

Plumb your tank to your home. Do you use an RO filter? plumb it to your house lines. What about water changes? Do you drain straight into a drain pipe or can you plumb it so that you open a valve and it goes into the homes main drainpipe. Most policies only give a description of the source of the damage, not a detailed explanation. If you plumb your tank to your house water lines in one way or another, it technically becomes part of the water system in your home.

well see thats the problem HOMEOWNERS insurance we were buying but my aunt was keeping the insurance and the company she is with doesnt cover tanks at all its part of an exclusion they put into the policy and if you add tanks to it then its goes sky high for the rates, the insurance companies here are outrageous anyway. Texas pays the highest of all states for home insurance to begin with. the insurance is continueing to go up and the payoffs and coverage is going down at a really fast rate.Renters insurance here also has an exclusion for tanks over 55 gallons even if they are plumbed into the house ( I thought about that one LOL) they are still considered a personall liability and is not covered. Also they wont allow you to add tanks to the policy for an added fee atleast thats what the companies that I contacted said. alot of companies are even thinking of not even offering insurance in the state because of all the proposed regulation and caps that the state is trying to put on them and from policy rates something has to be done its outrageous I think my aunt pays right at 1500$ a quarter for homeowners insurance on this trailer ( if I remember right its been a while since I saw the statment.) but even thats $6000 a year see the dilema LOL
But they will cover waterbeds go figure!!! ;-(

Have you ever thought about going out of state for insurance? I know that there are some smaller companies that will insure out of state policies.
Also, go ask your LFS what they do. I know that they will have insurance and may be able to point you in the right direction.
Also, I can talk to my GF's mom, she is certified in texas as an adjuster. She may be able to find a loophole somewhere.

My God Man! $6000.00 a year is rediculous. If it was me, I'd have to move. Your aunt sounds like a real *itch. Can you have her change her Will to give you the mobilehome and land then have her wacked? JUST KIDDING, stop thinking about it.
Move man and never look back.

I am not sure what state you are in, but as a general rule if you are only renting, purchasing a renters insurance policy is often a cheap way to cover the loss of any of your items. So long as you declare a value to the insurance provider. My setup is insured for 1,500 if anything should destroy it like a fire for instance. The insurance co. will not usually insure livestock however.
Another good thing is that it will cover any damage done to your trailer in the event the one of the tanks blows out and leaks all over the floor.
If I were you I would be very careful about entering into any kind of an agreement with a family member. Make sure you have the terms of the lease written out and signed. this is almost always required as a prerequisite to getting renters insurance.
I hope your not actually paying 125K for a trailer...if thats the case get a lawyer and sue your aunt to get out of anykind of agreement you may have entered into and get your downpayment back...I had a somewhat similiar situation and after serving the complaint on the family member they smartened up real quick.
best of luck
