tank next to a window???

so i have my 200 gallon next to 2 big windows and i have been getting air alge, my lfs gave me a sea hare to eat it all but i think i need more than one, do you think that the hair alge is from the sun light or what can i do to stop it..... the alge is only on the side that is next to the window

Natural sunlight is the worse lighting for a reef tank IMO.

buy some curtains that block 99.99% of the sun light for those windows

+1 Also check for phosphates, hair algae does not just grow from light.

My tank is next to a window and the vertical blinds go the wrong way (fixing that tomorrow). Took me a week of going out of my mind thinking about replacing my sand etc etc etc to realize that its not my sand giving me diatoms (well partly it is but not to the point i was getting) its the natural light
