tank overflows by manufacturer

can someone explain to me the overflows? If I have the manufacturer put in overflows..what does he do. Do they just leave holes, do they actually put in an overflow box, do they just leave you a spot for an overflow box?

Depends on the MFG. but usually they just drill the holes and silicone in the overflow box...
Then it's up to you to purchase the bulkheads, stand pipe and return pipe...
Although "most" will sell an add on "Overflow Kit" with the neccessary parts...
hint: you can "usually" purchase seperatly and DIY for less...:yes:

thanks squidd..that must be what the place I am looking at is doing. They show the box and placement options in tank..but I didn't realize they actually put a box in so confused me.
