Ok so I know natural light isnt a good Idea, heres my delimma, the only good place in my house is in front of a large window and a sliding glass door, now most of the time we leave the blinds closed, and the tank is about 8 feet away from the windows, facing them. Is this setting myself up for lots of future pain? that window only has a lot of light from about 1:30 till 6 or 7. I know the worst right?!?!?!?!

I dont think it will be too bad. Natural light is good as long is you have your water quality up. Buy a great skimmer and keep up with water changes and ou will be fine.

I beleive a protein skimmer is a must. I run carbon for one week out of a month, but dont see any problem running 24/7 365 days a year.
