Tank problem

I have a reddish brown algae like substance growing ion my tank. I have lost 4 fish and when I check my nitrite, nitrate, ph, salinity and speciific gravity, everything is within normal to ideal ranges. Temp is 78 degrees. I had an ick problem off and on and treated for it.
Can someone offer some suggestions or help please......

Can you give more info on your entire system? Tank size, filtration, source of water movement, are you using tap water or RO, substrate, total fish load (number and species). What did you use to treat the ich, and did you treat in the main tank or a quarantine tank? When did the fish have ich and how long have you noticed it being "cleared up?" What fish died?
Please post the real numbers for your parameters. Saying they are normal doesn't tell much and there may be a variable here contributing to the problem.
At first glance, my sense is the reddish brown stuff is probably cyano, and not a contributing factor, but there are other issues that need to be addressed.

Yeah, sounds like cyanobacteria. Nicetry asks most of the Q's that need to be addressed. But also - how long do you leave your lighting on. Too long = overgrowth.
Also, just b/c your nitrates are reading normal doesn't mean that they are normal. Cyano consumes nitrates, thus the readings may be normal when they are truly high. cleaning out the cyano may actually end up showing an increase in the nitrates. Good luck man.
