Ok I tested the tank again today. So Far I have read that when Amonia and Nitrites are 0 ok add more fish. This is the readings I got on 11-6-05
SPG - 1.026, PH - 8.4, Amonia - 0.25, Nitrite - 0.25 and Nitrate - 10
Testing Today these are the readings I Got 11-15-05
SPG - 1.027, PH - 8.4, Amonia - 0, Nitrite - 0 and Nitrate - 20
I took out approximatly 4 gallons of water and replaced with RO water to help get SPG down. Will retest that tomorrow and will do all the other tests again tomorrow to see if getting the SPG down changed anything.
I now have approx total of 40 lbs LR on Agronite? sand. I keep scraping the brown algae off the glass and the power head. Cleaned some off the sandbed when I took out water. But still it keeps coming back. Is there really nothing else I can do to this algae?
Whats the Next step?
thanks
Chris

New tanks usually go through periods of algae outbreaks once this algae goes away dont be suprised if you get another with different algae. Just give it time and keep up on your maitenence and always use RO water.

what size tank, how long cycled, what other fish, and when were they last added.
just because levels are good, doesn't mean you should add new fish, you should wait 4-6wks b/w adding fish.

Chris, why in the world would you want 7 damsels? They are super mean, hard to catch, and now your tank is very near having it's limit in fish!
