Wondering if anyone out there had a recommendation for a nice acrylic tank to setup a mini-reef. I'm looking to do somewhere between a 6g- 12g. tank. I've seen the eclipse and also Via Aqua. The via's look nice. What experience have you all had? Thanks in advance.

Take this for what it's worth as I have no first-hand experience with either the tanks you mentioned. I have seen several comments, both on other BB's and from friends... the plastic used in the small mass-produced tanks is not the best quality. In fact I think it is not really acrylic but more an injection molded plastic inferior to good quality acrylic. Complaints have been that it is more brittle (cracks easily) and can yellow rather quickly. A buddy of mine has told me that his Eclipse has "pitted" on the inside and now has permanent algae growth in these little "pores" if you will. I tried to find some info for you as I have a 7.5 gallon cube that has been wonderful... thing is it was made by a guy in California and I bought it on ---- close to two years ago now. I do see these tanks come up from time to time on ---- so you may want to look around there..
Just another note.... the Via Aqua tanks, at least the larger ones, I believe around 11 gallons? Are not plastic/acrylic... they are rounded corner glass. I vote for the Via tanks... the GLASS ones!, hehe Don't know if this helps, just sharin' ;)

I agree with glazer,& also when cleaning you can scratch the acrylic. I also have 5 mini reef tanks all glass w/bow fronts. I dont reccomend anything smaller than 10 gal. for mini reef. It can be very difficult & sometimes overwelmming to take care of. GOOD LUCK! :)
