Tank Redo

I posted this in the lighting/dyi forum, but thought I might post here too.
I am going to redo my 37 gal tank. It is 18x20x25 tall.
I want to try using the foam i have been reading about.
I am not the best a drawning so I will try and explain what I want, and need input on if it will work.
I want to start with an egg creat bottom in a half circle only about 9 or 10 inches at its widest.
in the middle back i want a piece of pvc pipe about 20 inch tall. I want to drill holes all throw it, and attach a power head or pump to the top, (blowing down the pipe) so the flow comes out the wholes. then cover the pipe with live rock and foam, leaving the holes open to provide flow all thru the tank. I have a picture in my mind, but putting it on paper and knowing if my Idea will work is another thing.
Any Ideas

2" holy cats that is going to be really big...which pump would you even use that has a 2"outlet that is submersible...most are going to be 3/4-1" unless you want a giant pump in the tank

Chinamom? ? ? ?
I'm all about internal spraybars coming through the rock.
Here is a picture of mine. I run it through the back of the tanks o I don't have a pump in the tank, but I used to do it internally with a Mag5 hidden by the rocks.
Off to look for pics . . .

You might want to look into using a product called great stuff to diguise the pipe. It's an insulating foam that can be cured and then coated in resin (hobby store) and sand goes on the resin to make it look like rock.

Help there but not here? It's my first ten minutes on the forum and I'm already being shunned.

I'm glad to help you out where ever.

(I really like that thumbs up smiley, I gotta get me one of those. )

hahahaha. Either place is fine. I posted pictures of my new tank over there.
It has a sump/wetdry, not sure what to do with that. It has a hangon overflow. My reef tank is drilled this one isnt.

Can I get a side shot of the wet dry?
Normally I take the bioball chamber completely out as I am to lazy to clean them like they need to be and just use the extra space for a larger refugium.

I got the tank home today. I will start cleaning it up this week.
I dont think I will be using the overflow and sump. The thing is huge, and the tank would stick out about 4 to 6 inch from the wall on both sides, and I want it to sent flush in the corner as much as posible. Its still in the car so I will get pictures later.

Hello,
I contacted the Dow Chemical Corporation, makers of Great Stuff insulating foam, and they said that Great Stuff has not been tested for use in aquariums. They have a black waterfall pond foam which they reccomended instead. We were able to find the Great Stuff pond foam on Amazon.com. Dow says the Great Stuff will lose integrity and fall apart over time and it has not been tested as fish safe, even if it is reportedly sometimes used.
We used an eggcrate frame, pond foam and lace rock/ tufa rock as the foundation for our 110 gallon tall. We have powerheads in the rockwork, one at each side, for circulation only with filter pads zip tied over the intakes to spare the shrimp, which often reside inside the rock frame. The powerheads were more of an afterthought, because we did not have enough flow thru the rock work.

Thanks, I am thinking of just stacking the rock around the pipe, I like to move things around now and then.

still waiting for my base rock to get back in stock before I start.
