Tank Setup

I'm not really sure what to do now that I have my tank (24 gal) and equipment. Please correct me if Im wrong...
first I rinse tank inside with water to clean off residue, empty it out
then I add treated water and then add salt mix
cycle tank for a day with everything running, mostly to mix water
then add 20 lbs LS and 20 lbs LR
Let cycle run for about a week, until Ammonia, Nitrites are 0
Am I missing anything? Is this right? Thank you for your help

it sounds right to me but then again I have only been doing this for a week.

yes everything is fine just make sure when you wash your tank you DON'T use chemicals, cleaning agents etc. because when you rinse it out you wont get all of it and this will harm your fish

yes,
definitely put the lr in to use for cycling and then, whn the cycle is almost complete, add the ls(unless you are using dry sand), because the ammonia spike you will get may kill off the inhabitants in the sand, then after cycle is complet, befor you add fish, if you are going to add detrivores, or cleaners, do this and wait 2 weeks for them to establish in the sand
one thing, not sure of the weight, but you want 3 to 4 inches of sand, but most of it can be dry arogonite, which is much cheaper than buying it all as ls
