I am kinda new to this and all, but from hearing others talk live sand and live rock is the best way to go. I am setting up this system right now. I found out that dry base rock seeding can save you a fortune. I bought 180lbs of dry base rock on ---- from hirock and was pleased with the size and density and is very easy to build structures. I plan on seeding it with 100lbs of live. Check out the thread I posted (live rock to dry base rock ratio). Because of the size of the tank your going to be looking at a lot of rock and sand $$$. My brother has a wet dry filter with bioball and he says he sometime has a problem with small amounts of nitrite building up. He also has a smaller tank with bio wheels and does not encounter this problem.

Fishdewd - what type of tank do you want? FO,FOWLR, or REEF. If it is reef start by thinking about your lighting. Think about what type of corals you will want to keep and find out the requirements on keeping them. Then move on to filtration. Wet/dry, Rock, Sand, Sand is great becuse of its massive surface area and ability to hold bacteria, my new 90 gal will have a combo of each.
Skimmers you need to do a search on to see what people like, the Berlin classic is a good skimmer, been around a while and preforms well.
Jarvis is right on about the baserock that he got. Those are some very nice calcium cabonate based rocks. One of mine was so big I had to cut it in half, which made great shelfs, got it the same way on ----.
