Tank Size

I want to start up another tank, but not a big one, not enough room to do it. So I was wondering if there is a min. tank size (i.e. how small is to small?)
And those who have small tanks, if you have any pics I would love to see them.

people do have nano tanks, under ten gallons...although i wouldnt recommend it unless u are experienced.the smallest u should go also depends on your room and money.I would say 30 gallons and if thatsd to big go with 20 or even 10

I would also reccommend 20-30 gallons. The smaller the tank usually the harder it is to maintain because there is little or no room for error. but here is a site with some pics of smaller tanks www.nano-reef.com

I agree that a 30g is a great size. There is a thread in the photo forum that asks for pics of 30's, Do a search. This should point your nose in a good direction.

Here's my 20 gallon fish only with one shrimp. It's not very outstanding though but I am happy with it already since I am only a newbie. :) :) Right now I have another powerhead on the other side of the tank. I've taken the filter out as well and it's working great. The water is good even I only do water change once a month since I am not asking for too much from this tank.

If you are doing a fish only tank, then you can save some space by getting a taller tank, like the 29gallon. Also, they make a "20g high" which would be okay. Fish prefer width over height but a 20g high would be fine. If you want to add some corals to your tank, you probably want to stay away from taller tanks, as they are much harder to fit enough light over. So, for example, you'd want to go with a 30 gallon, not the 29. But, in general, unless you are actually looking for the challenge of maintaining a thriving very small tank, I'd go with the rule of thumb which is get the biggest tank you can afford and that will fit in the space you have.
