what do you all think is the best/cheapest place to get all of the tank supplies??

depends on where you are. I picked up my first tank on the big auction site. I happen to live in chicago so i did a local search. I got a 75 RR with stand, sump, PC lighting etc. for a song. I've long since upgraded everything but it was a deal!

IMO going to an lfs is much higher than buying online

Do a search online for supplies, you will find some pretty cheap pricing.

I'm not sure this is even going to stay up but Wallyworld is probably the least expensive place to get HOB carbon filters and filter replacement pads as well as carbon.
Cleaning brushes, tubing, water, and air diverters are also less expensive at Wallyworld.
Timers that hold one plug in I should also include.
Anything else, I would look at this site for as well as the Great Auction site or my LFS.
