tankmate for a wart skin angler in a 30 breeder

Wartskin anglers are really beautiful fish for sure, but in a 30 gallon there are not too many tank mates. Maybe a Domino Damsel, or a larger/more aggressive dwarf angel. HTH.

i was kind of hoping a dwarf angel would be suggested. hows the angler and a flame angel for the only fish?

I am not an expert on anglers, so I hope that a person with more knowledge of them can go into more detail or be of more assistance than I can be (saxman), but I think that they could be together... I don't see a problem. I would add the angler a bit after the angel is introduced, so the angel has a bit of time to grow, just to be sure that it doesn't turn into angler lunch... lol. Then, on the other hand, I would be concerned if the angel might nip on the angler's fins, but I don't know if only full size angels have the tendency to nip on other fishes fins. I also think that the angler doesn't have large enough fins to be of concern.
I hope that this helps....

IMHO, a 30 gal is fine for a warty, but IME, anglers are really best kept in species setups. As mentioned, you really don't want any browsing fish such as angels, tangs, triggers, etc as they will indeed pick at the angler.
An angler will try to eat anything up to twice its size, and large meals for anglers often = death because the food will begin to decay in the fish's GI tract before it is digested due to the angler's very slow metabolism.
You'll also want to try and keep the angler in the water as they can swallow air and will require burping if this happens.

^ as much as i was hoping to be able to add another fish, after having done some research i realize that this would be best should i choose an angler.
thank you for your input saxman. if i end up going with an angler do you have any feeding tips?

also, saxman while i have you here: if i dont go with an angler, would a dwarf lion be cool in a 30 breeder?

Yep, a 30 would be fine for a dwarf. IMHO, fuzzies are the way to go...pretty (they come in lots of "flavors"), easily-weaned, and very personable fish. They get along with anything that doesn't pick at them and can't fit into their mouths.
