I agree. I am somewhat new to the hobby but I have learned so much about each coral, fish, piece of equipment on my own. For me, it gives me a better sense of pride and appreciation for what I have designed and the success I have had. It's funny because I went on a vacation where we snorkled through coral reefs and I was so suprised at what I had picked up on my own and what I was able to identify. Nothing like taking pride in something you have created through your own sweat and, unfortunately, somtimes tears.
