Anyone know a place where I can get a cheap tank? In the summer I am guessing I could find a good deal at a garadge sale. How much would be a good price for a 55 gallon tank?

some of our lfs's have bulletin boards where we can post such things, the smart lfs owners like the idea, because you are in their shop when deciding to go 4 it, and they can then still sell you supplies, where if you leave the store, you may never come back
also check your classified ads and see if there is a reef club near you often their members want to get somethig bigger and they will normally treat youright(it may be in extras to get you started, but i t would normally be good treatment)
the reason i say this is because you can often find good deals online esp. ---- but the shipping in tanks can be and is treacherous(often as much as buying new) and you never get to see the tank to make sure it is in good condition before you pay for it, you want to make sure it does not leak and is not all beat up and one other thing you should check is to see fi they ever had any diseases and what they may have used for treatment, copper especially, it may be a problem for you in the long run to have a tank that was ever treated with such medications
as far as a goood price, that is gonna vary grealty since one person would be offering this stuff and another would be offering different equipment(good example lighting or filers, one may be no flos and another maybe mh's), some of whihc you may or may not want, if you wnat it, figure up what it would be worht to you and then make an offer
