Tap water purifier

Is there only one kind of these on the market? I have the one made my Aquarium Pharmaceuticals. I have never seen any other kind. It does the job however it is rather slow. Also should I be using any additives? When doing a 20% change on a 40 gal tank, do you need to heat the new water, if so what is the best way? Thank you for your help!

I have the same unit. It is a bit slow but not too bad. I fill up a couple 5 gallon buckets (one with fresh water, one with salt mix)and let them set with covers on) until needed. Then I use a heater to warm it up before i do the water change.
