temp monitor

i was wondering if anyone has this same problem as me.i bought rainbow lifegard digital temp meter.a few months later the water temp probe gets a crack in it and the salt corrodes it and makes it have whacky temps.i bought a new one several months ago and it has done the same thing.just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or is it just me?

Hmm, haven't ever tried that probe before. I use a digital thermo with slave readout that has a stainless sensor probe. Been in the tank for 6 months now and I inspect it every so often and it shows no signs of decay. Thermo is made by Nu-Temp and I bought it for $14 at a LFS. Nice thing about it is the slave readout is perched right next to my computer monitor.....makes it nice to check temp at night without disturbing my tank critters with a flashlight.
