temp question

I think like 85-75 but I wouldn't let it change that much in your tank. Just keep it around like 78-80. Not sure exactlly on those numbers though.

OMG....88 is wayyy too high. You will first start to stress things (fish and corals) the fish will then die (hopefully not), and the corals will bleach and die. You need to try to get it down to at least 84. The highest my tank have been was about 84, then I started to worry as it went up to 85. Try directing a fan on top of the water, it will cool it very fast. Maybe buy a small computer fan and fix it on to your canopy. It will definetly drop at least 3 to 4 degress in no time.

as lbaskball said with a small fan, i have a 3" fan aiming down on the water , my nano got up to 86* and it dropped it down to 80*, works very well for small tanks, you just have to replace the water that evaporates, witch cools the water. give it a try.

depending how long it was at that temp, my nano has got to 86*
best to not let it flucturate too much, make sure you have a small fan to aim towards the water.that will help cool the water down.
what do you have your temp set at. ?

thats fine...just set your temp at 80 that way it wont be too much of a temp change when it goes up a few degrees, i have mine set at 78 because of the temp in my area, both my nano and my 75 reef never go up very much at all. hope that helps

cool.
I got sick and tired of trying to keep my tank temp stable, specially when I was running metal halides (150Watts) in my 24gal. The fan did help though. I eventually got a small chiller made by JBJ. I think it is perfect. No evap issues, and the tempertures are stable. With the fan, you get lot of evap.

well i only have a 6gal do you think they can make me one if so how much you think it would cost

truthfully 88 is way too high..85 is ok to treat ick and about 81 is the general reef area temperature. the most important thing is to keep the tank from majorly fluctuating throughout the day.

If your tank is only 6gals..might be pretty hard to keep ur temp stable. I was having a hell of a time trying to keep my tank stable in my 14gal. I dont think they make a chiller for that small but You might be able to go with a thermoelectric chiller. They are called "ICA chiller" might be able to find some cheep on ----.
