Temperature fluctuation

I have just started running my 60 gallon tank. I have a hood without a fan in it. I have 2 65 watt PC actinics and 2 65 watt daylight for 260 watt total.
During the day my water tempature increase 1.5-2.0 degrees. IS this okay? If not should I put a fan in my hood? IF I should how do I do that?
Thanks

That little of a change shouldn't have an ill effect. Mine does the same thing
If you are worried about it though - place a small fan blowing across the surface of the water

the best way is to give the fish the opportunity to plunge on the floor after diving outta the tank?

Fishhead:
Not all fish are jumpers and those who do have jumpers cover their tanks with eggcrate to keep the fish from jumping out. Even though they have eggcrate on top, it is still considered open top.

just a quick question on the same topic, my aqualight pro HQI 10000watt, PC, lunar light combo light that has a 150 watt metal halide bulb, a heavy ballast thing for the metal halide, 2 65 watt PC bulbs, and 2 lunar lights, says "do not use on an open top aquarium" then it also says "don't use with glass" so what the heck am I supposed to do lol. I know not to use glass because it breaks from the heat and blocks out the light, but what about that egg crate thing, like the dude above me said, what the heck is an egg crate?

No prob. its nothing what it sounds thats for sure. It comes in sheets really easy to cut a pair of sissors will work. It comes in 1inchX1inch holes to half inchXhalf inch holes. It would cost around $5 to put it on your tank.

To use metal halides use it on open top but you have to have it 10 to 12 inches above the water so splashing cant get to the bulbs. The bulbs you have are HQI so they will have UV covers over the bulbs so it shouldnt be a problem having it 8inches off the tank.

I get a crap load of dust over my top every week.
Wouldn't that dust get into the water without a top?

Yup it would. But your skimmer, filter and bacteria will break it down just like they would anything els.
