I have a big problem and need some suggestions:
I am in michigan for christmas, and my 75 gallon reef with 25 gallon sump is 600 miles from where i am now. it the care of my friend who happens to have no experience with any type of fish. my heater is set to about 85 degrees farenheit and the temperature is 71-72!!!!! is that too low for various corals and fish? i will be home on sunday to check it out, but my question is: will my livestock be ok until then? i have an extra heater to replace it.
please, I need help!!!
thanks

I think as long as it was a very slow drop things should be fine. You can't let it get any colder then 70.
If you have the extra heater why not instruct your friend to put it in for you?

i did about a half hour ago. hopefully he did it right and everything's ok

I know it is sooo hard to let someone else mess with the tank. Try not to stress, there is nothing more you can do for now...it should be Okay, it is just a heater, how tough is that?
