temperature question

how many degrees of temperature fluctuation is too much for fish and corals to handle? i mean sps and yellow tangs and anything below

The less the better.... but maybe 2 degrees wouldn't be too bad if you have halides kicking on during the day and the tank cooling at night.
I'd shoot for close to a constant temp as I could get but I know mine flucuates during the day about 2 degrees at times.
