my 180 is real old it has the chrome corner supports how do i tell if it's temperd?

Most tanks, including old ones, should have a small sticker on the bottom of the tank saying "tempered glass." If it doesn't, I wouldnt drill it. It may still be tempered glass, maybe someone at one point pulled the sticker off, but most likely it isnt tempered. Most "old" tanks are not made with tempered glass...it is a fairly new concept.

Hard to say and not work the risk to try.......I f you happen to know the brand name of the tank you may be able to contact manufacturer. IIRC there has only been two or three companies that used to make tanks and they used to make them and re-lable them under various other names as well, so you culd try that route.
