Tempered or not?

How can you tell if glass is tempered or not?
(no there is no sticker on the glass...lol)

Im having the same problem, i had an All-Glass aquarium drilled and it shattered (so it was tempered). Now i am about to get a 58 Oceanic Show drilled, its supposed to not be tempered and b/c it has a small chip on it and didnt shatter i too believe its not tempered.
Ive also heard many tanks are tempered on the bottom but not the sides, dont know how true this is but have been told that before.

I can tell you that a small chip in a corner will NOT make tempered shatter. I decieded not to risk it on my new tank. I'm going to get the best overflow box and go from there.

well its not exactly just on the corner, but hard to explain. So actually i can tell that it isnt tempered, thanks though.

almost all of the aquarium makers use tempered glass on the bottom but not on the sides. im not sure why this is but everyone ive talked to about drilling has said this.
