Terrorism hitting home.

I'm sure everybody has read about the attempted car bomb plot in Portland last week by now. Sounds like the FBI did a good job of getting a terrorist off the streets with this one.
The other thing is this guy lived and went to college in Corvallis which is where my wife works and the town I drive into to do the majority of my shopping. You really have to wonder about his motivation since Corvallis is a very liberal and progressive town and I see a lot of Muslims out and about and there has been a mosque there for 40 years.
Even though Corvallis is such a liberal town, I think a record was set for getting even and the mosque was burned over the weekend which is kind of dissapointing and whoever did it is no better than than the terrorist.
The usual claims where made by mosque members about them not having any idea this guy had anything planned. I think I have a problem with that though. I recently was grocery shopping and a Muslim family was shopping, one guy, guessing two wives and a couple kids, the women where covered. No big deal except they where blocking the isle and I waited about a minute after they knew I was waiting to get through to let them know that they needed to let me by. I was pretty neutral with them and I was not pissed because it was Muslims blocking the way, it was just they where being a pain in the butt and being rude. After I asked them to let me by, the look I got from this guy was nothing short of pure hatred and I saw him several more times while in the store and he continued to give me the stink-eye.
Since this guy and the terrorist more than likely went to the same Mosque, it just kind of makes you wonder in light of what happened.
Please don't take this as Muslimphobia since I don't really care for any organized religion period.

The second time the guy gave me stink eye in the store I would have went and got a pork roast and tossed it into his cart.
Seriously though those who claim this isn't a Muslim issue are fools. I am sorry buy you have to connect the dots and when you have people from numerous countries, from numerous social, racial and economic backgrounds flocking to be a terrorist you have to seek out the common thread, Islam.

Yeah, it is a head scratcher, this kid is a naturalized citizen from Somalia of all places, living in a community that is very accepting of other religions and races, the city itself is such a nice place that we can't afford a home there, he is going to college and still he feels the need to try and kill a bunch of random people and children at a tree lighting ceremony in Portland, another city that would bend over backwards not to offend Muslims. Poor guy, living somewhere I can't afford to live and going to a school that I was way too poor to attend, I hope they put him away for life.
As for the guy at the grocery store, I guess he should go find the house full of illegals that lived across the street from me at my last place and plot revenge against me for not being afraid. For some reason short guys from other countries seem to have a serious problem with me. Loading my truck for a day of shooting at the range while they where hanging out and seeing that much hardware including an SKS with a banana clip really seemed to solve the problems in my other neighborhood though very quickly. LOL

Hey streb, I see no matter what happens anywhere you still take the highly intellectual stand of blaming libs no matter what. Clearly from your comments there is not a lot of difference as far as your concerned between Oregonians and terrorists. Again it would be nice if you could grow-up a little and understand that not everyone is going to march to your conservative puppet masters like you seem to.

My next sarcastic remark might has be been well if they would have changed the name of it. (assuming it is still called Christmas tree lighting) to holiday tree, maybe he wouldn't have tried to bomb them...

Trust me right now American Airlines and I are closer to WAR than the 2 freaking Koreas are. My LFS placed a order for a Hand caught Juvi Chirstmas Island Emperor Angel for me along with a few other fish for his stock. Well some Idiot American Airlines Baggage Handler thought Airport BMI which is Bloomington IL meant Baltimore MD which is BWI. Big Differance there. Then when they found the error instead of shipping the entire order right back to Chicago so it could make a flight to its destination what did they do. They crushed the BOX and broke the bags. I have been waiting for a mnoth due to the Volcano eruption in Indonesia for this thing to be shipped it was the last one the Wholesaler had now I can not get it. Trust me right now if I was mad right now at any group more than American Airlines the Mods here would NOT have enough Censor powers to keep me from ripping the Police of Portland a new rear end about as wide as the Pacific ocean is across on a Flight from LA to Sydney.
