This is just something I'm curious about. In many parts of the Red Sea and Indian Ocean the salinity is around 27. According to Fenner, some of the fish from these waters require a consistant salinity higher than found in typical aquariums of 22-25.
Now, I wonder if this may be why some people have trouble with certain fish such as the Achilles Tang. I'm also curious if performing a hypo-salinity could actually be to much stress on these fish.
Any thoughts?
