Terry, Clownfish Update

Hey, Terry. Just thought I'd drop a quick email to share with you a rather strange thing.
You remember the female clownfish that died a couple of mos ago? The only thing I could visibly see that was wrong with this fish was a single swollen red gill. Well, now, my remaining male clownfish--2 mos later--has exactly the same thing on the same side gill!
I can't figure this out. These fish have not been exposed to new fish, but suddenly get this single gill disease. Anyway, I'm trying M2 again [I've caught this earilier than I did with the female.]
Well, just thought I'd share the info to see if you had any thoughts.

Beth, I agree & enjoyed reading your assesment of treating ick. However, would you not agree that hyposalinity will eventually kill all the ick - if left hypo for an extended peroid of time. As the ick goes through its cycles would it not eventually fall off the fish and die.

FW dip may be effective in killing of or causing ick that is attached to fish to drop off and die, however, it appears that hypo is only effective when ick is in the free-swimming stage.
That is why it is important that the hobbyist not loose patience with treating ick. If you see it, it can't be killed, basically, but just because you can't see it, doesn't mean its not there.
