I'm thinking of purchasing a Tessalata Eel in a FO tank..I have a 2 inch panther grouper, Hawiian Puffer, a red hawk fsh and a lion fish. Does anyone have any info on keeping one or just general info on the Tessalata eel.

I would never put that eel in any tank under 300 gallons.
I have a 155 and I also always wanted one. One day I bought a 2ft tesselata eel.
Not only was he never full, he looked like he wanted to eat my fish.
I have triggers, angels, tangs, etc and I also have a snowflake moray.
Just my 02 cents.

The zebra's are extremely mello. With your new shark, that is the perfect eel for it. With mine, he never took food from others, never aggressive, and minded his business at all times. It was the perfect eel for a larger aquarium.

I am considering one myself, but I had a bad experience with another species "escaping" several years ago. Let me know how the zebra works out for you. I assume all eels are escape risks.

No problem, the zebra is a good substitute for a tessleta becuase there color and markings are somewhat similar!:D

The Zebra Eel is doing great....loves to hide under a large rock...I've had him 3 days now...he hasn't ate yet..he still getting used to the surroundings..
He's hidding out with Banded cat shark and so far he's mellow..and too large to escape, I have an acrylic tank with heavy top cover and acrylics have a completly sealed top with lids.
I'll get pixs as soon as he comes out
