Test kit question

I had a friend come and test some water for me because I think my master kit is out dated. I mostly use API for Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, but he used a salifert to test my nitrate level I did see any reason to test for ammonia or nitrite and he got a reading of 2. My question is what would that be on a API test? Thanks

Salifert Nitrate test of 2 mg/L
This would read from 0-5 mg/L on an API test for nitrate
