i know what test kits I need, but what brand? salifert, red sea, aquarium pharmeceuticals. Salifert would cost me the most. Red sea has a pretty good master kit but i would still need more. What I said for red sea is the same for aquarium pharmeceuticals. Now if i decided on one of the last two, should i buy other brands of test kits to fill in the missing ones or get the same brand. Sorry for so many questions. Thanks

or is there any other good brands? (instant ocean) is one i can thnk of

I would go cheap at first and fill in the others test with different brands till you find ones you can read and feel that your getting good numbers and that will come with time. Keep a log of the test numbers that way you can get a feel for when to do water changes or add supplements and there relationships. When you get a number that is way out remember that tests can be wrong and you can make mistakes when testing so confirmed your results in some way whether testing over with the same test or getting a different one.
I like API they are simple and easy to read.

IMO, it depends on the type of tank. If it's fish only, you can probably get away with the cheaper master test kits.
If you have a reef with more tempermental corals, I'd recommend getting salifert or one of the other good test kits.
