Testing!

I have had my tank up for quite some time, I have always depended on the LFS to test my water, But i want to take the riens and do it myself!
Is there any one test kit that is the best one to have?

I use a test kit by aquarium pharmasuiticals. It seems to do pretty good.

Not the best test kit on the market, but gets the job done. Just make sure that the kit you buy is not expired. Also, keep the kit in a cool place and cap everything really well as they tend to get very inaccurate with age and exposure to air or heat. That is the disadvantage of their kits. Other than that, they are fine! I use them myself for routine testing all the time.

I have that test kit also and I think the colors are really hard to distinguish. I won't buy it again.

I definately agree with you on that. It is tough to match some of the colors to the test water.

Does anyone have any opinions on the Hagen Nutrifin Test Kits?
