Testing

What should i be testing? I just got an amonia spike to .25 the other day and the last few days i have been testing amania. is there anything else i should be testing during my cycle.

Nitrite and nitrate.
Your ammonia will spike, then drop to 0. After this the nitrite will spike and go to zero. Once these both happen your nitrates will start to build up. You do a water change at this point and your good to go.

even after the cycle is complete i will feed a very small amount of food (for another week) just to make sure it is complete and you have enough bacteria to handle your first fish.
