I have had my 55 up for almost a year. All I test for is amonia nitrates and nitrites. Is this all I should test for? After reading some threads I see that there is more things to test for.

Ph,Phosphates, Nitrates,Nitrites. I don't know about anybody else, but I rarely test for ammonia for a tank that has been set up for that long you'll know if you have ammonia(dead fish dead coral and so on). I do keep a new one on hand just in case, because if something should dye that's what I would test for first. And if down the road you plan on adding LPS' or SPS' you'll need to test for Cal & Alk as well.
some corals require iodine, strontium and magnesium as well, but you should know which ones before you buy them.
Phosphates would be helpfull to test for for anything in your tank. I didnt rememebr if that was posted before or not
