I would use neither a UFG or a wet dry, and the reason is because both filters do not complete the bio-cycle. Both are nitrate factories—a waste by-product that, though not usually lethal to fish, it is certainly not desirable; it is also not tolerated by inverts. However, since the wet-dry is new, and you just got it, it is a much better choice over the UGF. DO NOT use UGF at all. Tanks with UGF are very high maintenance and they are nitrate factories that, unlike the wet-dry, you can do nothing about. Once the UGF is down, you can not clean it or get rid of it unless you break your whole tank down. Now with the wet-dry, you have some options for what you put in it and you can clean it, and you can also get rid of it wo ripping apart your whole tank.
That said, filter choices have a lot to do with the type of tank you plan on setting up. FO, FOWLR or reef. But, no matter what, toss the UGF, unless you plan on setting up a FW tank. The UGF is totally obsolete for the marine hobby and is inefficient and inadequate. It was invented for FW and was later used by SW hobbyist for lack of anything else....the lack of anything else is no longer a problem.
Have fun setting up the new tank!
