I learnt my lesson and learnt it well. After purchasing a flame angel, I put it into my QT (currently housing 3 small fish) and lo and behold...two days later...ich appears (fish purchase is another story in itself). Off to the store for water so I can lower the salinity.
Thanks to everyone (da sharks especially)who ever posted questions and answers on this topic that I've been reading faithfully. You just saved me another potential major tank loss.

Oh, and just a post note. When you acquire a new fish, be sure the other fish in the QT have been successfully moved to the "home" tank before adding the new acquistion. That way, you don't expose all these fish disease.

oh well..too late for that since these 3 others had only been in there not even 7 days, at least they'll all get treated anyways
