I just wanted to say thanks Beth for helping me with the problems with my Lion and clowns. Lost the Lion this morning, he wasn't eating, but each time I put him in the Formaline dip he perked up so I thought things were getting better.
Amazingly, the clowns are doing much better, they are eating the garlic soaked food and very active once again.
The Lion's skin was peeling off around his dorsal ray, so much so that his spines were out in the open. Don't know what it was, but any input is welcome. In the last day he develop small white spots on his head up to his dorsal fin.
The hospital tank is cloudy now so I suppose I should do a complete water change. Question is what to do with the sand. I was treating with hyposalinity and Maracyn II. Should I throw the sand? Rinse the sand? Dump it from the hospital/quarantine tank? Other question is if I should keep all fish out of the show tank for a month or two.
Thanks for all of your help, at least we kept the clowns. ;)

You had me treat the Lion and my two clowns with a formalin dip and start treatement with Maracyn II. Unfortunately, the Lion didn't make it. In the quarantine/hospital tank I will change the water, but what about the sand? Should I wash it, throw it out? Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the poor lion, but good news on the clowns! I'm beginning to believe that clownfish, as small as they are, are the strongest fish in the ocean! Must be a good reason that they are the mascot symbols for this hobby!
